VIV/ILDEX India 2012 presented a successful professional Feed to Meat platform for the Indian poultry and dairy industry. A total of 150 specialized exhibitors from 18 countries introduced an extensive exhibition program with the latest technology, products and services. The presentation of countries included official pavilions from China, France and the Netherlands.
Opening session
The grand opening was attended by Government officials and industry professionals from India and abroad. The hall was packed with a standing audience. Dr Charan Das Mahant, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture & Food Processing, Government of India was the Chief Guest. The opening session kicked-off with the remembrance of Dr B V Rao, father of Indian Poultry, for his contribution to the Indian Poultry Industry. Other speakers at the opening were various dignitaries from Government and industry.
In his speech, Dr Charan Das Mahant, Chief Guest of the function, stressed the need for developing the livestock sector in the country and mentioned that the Indian Government has added new schemes and subsidies for the development of the rural sector. He further assured his help for growth and development of the poultry & dairy industry in India.
During the key note address Dr Shukla, Joint Commissioner (Poultry), Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy & Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture, highlighted various issues posed by the poultry industry in India and appraised the gathering about poultry development policies and recommendations to other ministries to resolve the financial allocations during the next budget session.
Strong presence of the industry
VIV/ILDEX India 2012 was attended by 7,017 visitors from India and overseas. On the second day, Shri Revu Naik Belamgi, Hon’ble Minister for Animal Husbandry, Library and Adult Education, Government of Karnataka graced the exhibition by his presence along with his department officials and personally interacted with exhibitors to observe the advanced technologies displayed on the floor.
The event was supported and actively participated by various industry associations like CLFMA OF INDIA, National Egg Coordination Committee, All India Poultry Development Services, Poultry Federation of India and Karnataka Farmers and Breeders Association. There was a dedicated stall for the Indian poultry press which was represented and managed by leading poultry journals.
Lively debates
The Poultry Master Class was a successful conference, where presentations by Pas Reform, Big Dutchman and Salmet were best-attended, attracting an audience of over 80 persons. The panel discussion on “Competitiveness in Feed & Fodder” chaired by Dr K T Sampath, Director, National Institute of Animal Nutrition & Physiology and “Role of Animal Health in Food Security” chaired by Dr Amarjit Singh Nanda, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, resulted in lively debates between the audience and the panel members. The Dutch Ministry-Conference welcomed over 70 attendees at peak times.
True strength
VIV/ILDEX India 2012 is perceived by the industry as a platform for meeting top and medium level customers. The review of participants reveals the event's true strength:

The 4th edition of VIV/ILDEX India is scheduled at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore during April 23-25, 2014.
